Known throughout the New York medical community for providing women with the best health care available, tempered by a warm and caring attitude, Dr. Elizabeth Poynor serves patients as an oncologist and gynecological surgeon at her private practice on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. Providing quality care for women with a variety of gynecological needs, as a board-certified pelvic surgeon, Dr. Poynor is well qualified in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery. Helping patients to return to their normal lives as quickly as possible, many of the procedures are able to be performed in-office, such as colposcopies, urodynamics, loop electrosurgical excision procedures (LEEP), endometrial ablations, and investigational biopsies. Dr. Poynor provides comprehensive treatment and counsel about the physical impact of surgery, and all procedures are done with the latest equipment in medical technology, such as Doppler and 3D and 4D imaging. For more involved procedures, Dr. Elizabeth Poynor maintains privileges at area hospitals such as Beth Israel Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, and St. Anthony Community Hospital. In addition, a large part of Dr. Elizabeth Poynor's practice is devoted to genetic testing, a valuable tool for patients predisposed to invasive diseases such as breast and ovarian cancer.

As a respected member of the medical community, Dr. Elizabeth Poynor maintains membership in a number of professional organizations. Dr. Poynor is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Society. She additionally functions as Director of a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship program at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, and serves as a board member for Sharsheret and the Cancer Schmancer Movement.
